2 APD cruisers crash, 2 officers hurt

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Two Atlanta police officers were hurt in a traffic accident between two Atlanta police cruisers near the I-285 exit with Martin Luther King Drive Wednesday evening.


The wreck happened on Martin Luther King Drive near the I-285 exit.

According to Officer Ralph Woolfolk with the Atlanta Police Department, the officers were alert, conscious and breathing when they were taken from the scene of the accident. They were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. The condition of the two officers was not immediately known.

Teen shot while protecting family from robbers

ATLANTA -- A 15-year-old Atlanta boy is in stable condition after being shot during an attempted robbery.

It happened late Thursday at the intersection of Division Street and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard in northwest Atlanta.


The victim told police he was on the porch of a house, while his uncle's girlfriend was at the street corner. A gray Toyota Camry pulled up to the woman, and two men inside the car tried to rob her.

MARTA to hold job fair for bus drivers

ATLANTA -- Fulton County has teamed up with MARTA to hold a hiring fair for new bus drivers.

The event will be Thursday, July 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Adamsville Career Center, 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Attendees must be at least 21 years old and are required to pass a number of background screenings, including a customer service test, drug test and physical exam. They must also have valid Georgia class A or B driver's licenses, or Georgia commercial driver's license permits with passenger endorsements.

Applicants must bring several documents to Thursday's job fair, including:

* An original seven-year motor vehicle report
* A copy of a high school diploma or GED
* A résumé with a valid telephone number and email address
* A driver's license

Salaries for MARTA bus operators begin at $14.09 an hour.

Police investigate shooting in NW Atlanta


ATLANTA -- Wednesday night, yellow crime scene tape cordoned off the 500 block of Center Hill Avenue in northwest Atlanta as children and their parents sat in disbelief.

They were shocked because of the brazen gun violence that sent bullets flying in every direction near their homes.

Four people were hit and had to be hospitalized.

Suspect arrested in fatal gentlemen's club shooting

ATLANTA – The suspect in a shooting outside of an Atlanta club over the weekend has turned himself in to police.

Marquise Holliman, 39, told investigators he saw himself on the news. He was arrested and taken to the Fulton County Jail on a murder charge.

Holliman is accused of shooting two men with an assault rifle outside Stilettos Gentlemen Club on Marietta Street in northwest Atlanta. Mark Turner, 37, died at the scene. Brandon Brewer remains in an intensive care unit at Grady Memorial Hospital with significant head injuries.

Dog put in hot car to die on purpose

ATLANTA -- It was not an accident. That's what police are saying after a dog was found dead inside a hot car. Now they are asking for help finding the person who would have purposely put the dog in the car to die.

Police have two persons of interest they would like to talk to about the death of the Pitbull named Blue. They only know the two persons by the names Sheila and Bree.

Cars shot outside NW Atlanta recording studio

ATLANTA -- Police in northwest Atlanta are looking for those responsible for shooting several cars outside a recording studio early Monday.

It happened just after 4 a.m. in the parking lot of Twelve Studios on Defoor Hills Road.

Police say a Corvette, Mercedes and Infiniti were all damaged.

The recording studio complex also has an office that belongs to rapper Rick Ross. There is no word if the shooting is tied to the rapper.
