Suspect charged in Georgia Tech robberies

ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech Police have arrested the man accused of robbing a student inside the school's business college.

Quevos Talley was taken into custody Monday. Investigators believe he is the armed man who took a student's backpack in the atrium of the Scheller College of Business on Jan. 5.

Police said Talley is also accused of stealing two laptops from the business college in December.

Talley has been charged with two counts of burglary and one count each of armed robbery, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Atlanta Police, MARTA Police, the FBI and Crime Stoppers helped Georgia Tech Police track down and arrest Talley.

"This was a great example of collaboration with multiple agencies to affect an arrest," Georgia Tech Police Chief Rob Connolly said in a statement.

Since the January robbery, Georgia Tech has improved security in the area around the Scheller College of Business. BuzzCards are now required to access all the building's entrances except the main one, and a security guard works at the front desk in the evenings.
