2 wanted for stealing wheels, rims from car dealerships

ATLANTA -- Clayton County police are looking for two men accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of wheels and rims from car dealerships in two states.

Corey Montgomery is wanted on 100 counts of theft. Clayton County Police Sgt. K.T. Hughes said investigators believe Montgomery, 34, spearheads a criminal organization that takes wheels and rims from GMC and Chevrolet vehicles at dealerships in Georgia and Alabama.

Hughes said Montgomery's accomplice is 48-year-old John Paul Vinson. Vinson is homeless, but is often seen around Rice Street in northwest Atlanta.

Anyone who sees Montgomery and Vinson or knows their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Clayton County Police at 678-610-4785.

ATLANTA -- A 27-year-old man has been charged with shooting two people to death in northwest Atlanta last week.

Michael Oneal was arrested Sunday. He has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths.

Atlanta Police Officer John Chafee said the victims were a man and woman in their 20's. He said the Apr. 17 shooting began as a domestic dispute between Oneal and the female victim.

Neither victim's name has been released. Their bodies were found in a home on Holly Street NW.

Oneal is being held without bond in the Fulton County Jail.

ATLANTA - -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead in a car in northwest Atlanta.

Police said the body was discovered after they received a call about a vehicle stopped in the road on Hood Avenue.

The man was in the driver's seat of a red Monte Carlo. Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said he had been shot several times in the chest.

The Monte Carlo had been reported as stolen out of DeKalb County, she said.

No other information was immediately available.

ATLANTA -- Police officers responding to a person shot call at 3 a.m. Thursday found a man dead just inside the front door of a house on Grand Avenue NW.

Atlanta Police Night Commander Cpt. Tim Peek said officers are working to identify the man, who appears to have been in his late 20's to mid 30's.

Capt. Peek said the victim was shot at least once. The medical examiner will determine if more than one shot struck the man.

Officers found no one else in the house when they arrived.

ATLANTA -- It's been nearly four days since an Atlanta father was killed by a hit and run driver.

Walter Amey was bicycling on Abner Place at around 9 p.m. Saturday when he was hit. The driver left the scene and has not yet been identified.

Amey's daughter Monica, who lived with her father, hopes that raising awareness about the case will help catch the driver.

"No one has seen anything," Monica Amey said. "I'm hoping and praying that someone will come forward."

Amey said her father cared about the environment, which is why he was riding a bike instead of driving. "He was definitely athletic. He loved to bike ride, he loved to run," she said.

ATLANTA -- No one was hurt when two men robbed a Midtown Atlanta fast food restaurant Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened at around 3:30 a.m. at the Krystal on 14th Street NW.

Atlanta Police Capt. Tim Peek said two men walked into the restaurant, pulled out guns and took cash from the register. Witnesses described the suspects as a tall black man with tattoos all over his face, and a short black man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Although no one was injured, one Krystal employee was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to be treated for stress.

Women, baby robbed in Midtown

Women, baby robbed in Midtown

ATLANTA -- Two women and an infant were robbed while sitting in a car Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened shortly after midnight near the intersection of Holly and 14th streets near Georgia Tech.

Atlanta Police said the women and baby were sitting in a Mercedes when two suspects walked up, got into the car and began rummaging through the victims' belongings.

The suspects took one woman's purse and cell phone before running, police said.

Police have not yet identified the suspects. The women described them as black men in their teens. Both men wore their hair in dreadlocks.
