ATLANTA (June 14, 2013) – Join Chef Ford Fry as he hosts the fifth annual JCT. Kitchen Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival on Sunday, July 21 from 1-5 p.m. This year, more than 40 of the South’s top chefs along with 15 skilled mixologists and over 30 farmers are teaming up to create the tastiest tomato concoctions and to help raise money for Georgia Organics.

“Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival is absolutely one of my favorite events,” says Ford Fry, owner/chef of JCT. Kitchen & Bar, No. 246 and The Optimist. “I love seeing the creativity of all the participants and I’m looking forward to seeing what this year’s crop of talent comes up with,” he adds.

Tickets are now on sale for $55 per person and $50 for Georgia Organics members and can be purchased online through Xorbia. Starting Monday, July 1, all ticket prices will increase to $70 per person. A total of 1,400 tickets are available for attendees. Last year’s festival brought in close to $26,000 for Georgia Organics.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- California Pizza Kitchen is doing its part to help the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Through Thursday, June 6, customers are invited to bring a fundraising flyer to any California Pizza Kitchen restaurant. Those who do will have 20 percent of their checks donated to The One Fund.

The flyer can be found at cpk.com/fundraiser.

Georgia has California Pizza Kitchen locations at Atlantic Station, Lenox Square and Perimeter, as well as Alpharetta, East Cobb and Norcross.

Chipotle offers BOGO special for teachers

ATLANTA -- Chipotle Mexican Grill is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day by offering buy-one-get-one menu items for educators.

On Tuesday, May 7, a teacher who shows a valid school ID at any U.S. Chipotle restaurant will receive a free burrito, burrito bowl, salad or order of tacos when they buy another menu item.

The promotion is available from 4 p.m. to close.

This means going beyond our commitment to better food from more sustainable ingredients and working hard to engrain our restaurants in the communities that they serve," Chipotle communications director Chris Arnold said in a statement. Coke partners with Firehouse Subs for national contest

ATLANTA -- Coca-Cola and Firehouse Subs are partnering for a national sweepstakes centered on stock car racing.

Coca-Cola is sponsoring the Coca-Cola Photo Finish sweepstakes at Firehouse Subs locations through Apr. 21.

During the contest, life-size cutouts of participating Coca-Cola Racing Family members will be placed in FIrehouse Subs locations. Firehouse Subs guests can snap a photo with the cutout and submit it to win. Guests can submit photos via text to cocacolaphotofinish.com, or entries can be mailed.

Participating drivers include Joey Logano, representing the Georgia and Gulf region; Greg Biffle, representing the West and Central region; Danica Patrick, representing the Florida region; Denny Hamlin, representing the South region; and Tony Stewart, representing the Mid-Atlantic region.

ATLANTA -- The James Beard Foundation has announced the semi-finalists for its 2013 awards with a bunch of Georgia chefs and restaurants in the mix.

The award nominees will be announced on Monday, March 18, with the James Beard Foundation Awards taking place on May 3 and 6 in New York City.
